This state witnessed the establishment of PCC society in 1946 which came to be known as Rural bank in the year of 1956 which further came to be known as Agricultural Regional Bank in 1959.Since 1963, this has been functioning under the title of service cooperative bank. Since the year of 1987, the head office and its branch has been functioning within a self-established three-storey building situated in the region of thondayad which is located within the precincts of Nellikode.
Banks have been operating in the regions of paroppady, puthiyapalam, kovoor and kotooly since 1984,1989,2002 respectively. By taking into account user requirements as well as bank growth, core banking has been introduced in five branches for a more developed banking experience through computerised technology that is incorporated in the head office which was inaugurated on 20th November 2008.
